Wagering Systems

A pari-mutuel wagering system, technically known as a totalisator or ‘tote’ system, is a complex, integrated hardware and software configuration that – in conjunction with user devices – accepts wagers, calculates odds and payouts, and allows for the redemption of winnings. Thousands of transactions are processed every second in a secure, redundant environment. Totalisator systems consist of the following key components:

  1. The Central System – Triplex redundant computers with large communication arrays that enable the processing of wagers from thousands of terminals at the local site and at hundreds of remote facilities.
  2. Proprietary Software – Scientific Games’ software supports multiple bet types, net pool pricing, player tracking, telephone and Internet account wagering and other advanced features.

Designed to work together in a cohesive and integrated manner, Scientific Games Racing’s computer systems, wagering devices, peripheral devices and personnel provide superior technology and service to customers worldwide.
The core components of Scientific Games Racing wagering systems include:

  1. Quantum™ System
  2. Business Management Platform
  3. APT™ Player Tracking
  4. Trackplay™ Account Wagering
