SecuRewards

SecuRewards – Ensuring “TOP PRIZE” Availability

Lotteries everywhere are feeling increasing pressure to ensure they are closing out instant games once the last top prize in the game has been claimed. Despite disclaimers on tickets themselves, improvements in the distribution of “prizes remaining” information to retailers, and the finite nature of game prize structures in general, the “promise” of an opportunity to win the top prize with each and every ticket purchased has difficult to manage simply because of the random nature of how prizes are won.  Some otherwise great selling games can be taken out of the marketplace if there is no longer a “Top Prize” to be claimed.

Scientific Games has developed a solution that addresses this issue directly, eliminating product mix disruption for lotteries, while satisfying the concerns about the availability of the top prize. SecuRewards is a system which allows at least one top prize in a game to be held aside, and awarded following the game closure or at a time determined optimal by the lottery. Non-winning tickets are registered by players through the lottery website and each registration represents a chance to win the last top prize for that game. By implementing the system, a lottery ensures that if a ticket offers a $25,000 top cash prize, EVERY ticket purchased for that game will in fact be eligible to win that prize amount.

Play it againThe Tennessee Education Lottery became the first to introduce SecuRewards in 2007 as part of a statewide anti-litter initiative. The Play It Again! program receives over 200,000 entries per week for more than 60 eligible instant games.
